U Zaw Lin Htut

A pioneer in Myanmar’s card payments industry with over two decades of banking experience, U Zaw Lin Htut was appointed as Executive Vice Chairman in April 2023 to spearhead A bank’s digital transformation.

U Zaw Lin Htut brings over 20 years of experience in digital banking. Prior to joining A bank as an independent director in 2018, U Zaw Lin Htut was CEO of Myanmar Payment Union, the country’s national payment network.  He also worked at global banks such as ING.

U Zaw Lin Htut is widely regarded as an early adopter and advocate of card payments. He established the payment system network in Myanmar which paved the way for the formation of the MPU. His critical contribution to the industry, combined with an unparalleled knowledge of the Myanmar payment domain, made him one of the most sought after thought leaders in Myanmar and across the region.

U Zaw Lin Htut holds a B.Sc (Geology) degree from Yangon University, and an MBA from Yangon Institute of Economics, MA (Business Law) in 2005 from Yangon University. He also has a Master in Management of Banking & Finance from the Solvay Brussels School of Economic and Management, Université’ Libre de Bruxelles and organised at National Economic University, Hanoi.
