Daw Mi Mi Sein

Known for her analytical skills and exemplary work ethic, Daw Mi Mi Sein is an inspirational leader who made history as the first Myanmar woman to become CEO of a major bank. 

A career professional, Daw Mi Mi Sein rose through the ranks as Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board of Directors after serving as the bank’s Chief Financial Officer for two years. During her stint as CFO, she played a pivotal role in establishing A bank as one of the top banks in Myanmar – steering growth, managing financial and operational risks, strengthening due diligence and compliance, innovating and increasing efficiencies.

As CEO, Daw Mi Mi Sein is responsible for building a sustainable foundation for growth and advancing business transformation at A bank. This while continuing to establish a robust risk management and governance framework, breaking new ground in international partnerships and strengthening stakeholder trust.

Before joining A bank, Daw Mi Mi Sein has held numerous positions at auditing firms and diverse industries in London, United Kingdom. She also worked as CFO and other senior financial management positions in Myanmar private banks and financial institutions for more than 20 years.

Daw Mi Mi Sein is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) (1995), a Fellow Member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) (2007), and a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s HBS – Accion Program on Strategic Leadership in Inclusive Finance (2019).
